My name is Val Moll. I am excited to be teaching 1st grade at CVC this year. My husband Dane, and one of our boys is here at CVC, and two are in college. This is exactly where we feel God is calling our family to be and we are honored to invest our time and gifts at this school.
If you are new to CVC, welcome! I am looking forward to experiencing this new school year with you as a teacher and parent. I have had experience of teaching grades K-3rd, and Learning Resource. Many people have asked what grade is my favorite so far, and I have to say "All of them!". I love all the developmental stages of children, and most of all I enjoy seeing the progress that is made in a school year.
Thank you for investing your time, energy and resources into CVC. God's blessing to your family in the new school year ahead, and thank you for the opportunity to be your child's teacher.
My name is Erin Kootstra. I am new to CVC this year and I am honored to be a part of this fantastic community. First grade is such a great age. The wonder students have for the world and the love that pours out of them is what inspires me every day. Teaching is my passion and I am grateful to be a part of your child's life!
I grew up in Sheldon, Iowa and graduated from Dordt College in 2011. My first job was teaching 3rd grade in a small village in the mountains of Honduras. Afterwards I was hired at Hanford Christian School. I have spent the past 6 years teaching 1st grade there. My husband Leland and I live in Visalia, so I am looking forward to the short drive every morning.
Thank-you for entrusting your children to my care this year. We are going to grow together, in academics and in Christ. Your child will be in my daily prayers, and I ask for you to cover our classroom in prayer as well. I look forward to a great year in first grade!
My name is Angela Struiksma. This will be my first year teaching at CVC but my fifth year teaching 1st grade! I have spent the past four years teaching for Visalia Unified. I am also a student myself! I am in my final semester of the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Fresno State. I feel so blessed to be teaching at CVC and to be a part of this wonderful community.
I grew up in Visalia and graduated from CVC. After CVC, I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with an Associates of Arts degree in Marketing. Then I graduated from Fresno State 2010 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. I spent some time as a Fashion Merchandiser. After marrying my husband, Kevin, in 2011 and having our first child, Maverick, in 2014, I decided to take a leap of faith and go back to school to get a teaching credential. It has been the best decision ever! I absolutely love teaching and I love first grade! I’ve also had two other children, Rylie in 2016 and Kennedy in 2017.
I want to thank you for this opportunity to teach your children and to learn and grow in Christ with them. Please keep our classroom in your prayers and thank you for all that you do for them. I am excited to be a part of your child’s life and this will be a great year!
